Industry and Innovation

The Heritage Canada Foundation is proud to present Heritage 2002: Industry and Innovation, celebrating Canada’s heritage of innovation in industry.  From the earliest industries, such as boat-building by Aboriginal peoples, and copper refining, through the era of European settlement and the development of craft industries, the coming of the Industrial Revolution, and on to today’s knowledge economy, Canadians have become world leaders in industry and innovation.

Heritage Day will be celebrated on Monday, February 18, 2002.  Many communities will also celebrate Heritage Week and Heritage Month.

The Heritage Canada Foundation, also known as Heritage Canada, is a registered charity and national membership based organization dedicated to understanding, protecting and using wisely the heritage architecture and historic places of Canada.  Since 1973 Heritage Canada has bestowed awards on Canadians for outstanding contributions to heritage conservation, and helped to sensitize youth about their work as stewards of our heritage.
