HCF Announces 2013 Herb Stovel Scholarship Fund Recipients

Ottawa, ON, September 13, 2013 – The Heritage Canada Foundation (HCF) join members of the Stovel family in congratulating the first recipients of educational assistance from the Herb Stovel Scholarship Fund. The Herb Stovel Scholarship Fund is administered by HCF in cooperation with a professional advisory committee.

Samantha Bruegger of Vancouver, British Columbia, is the recipient of a scholarship in the form of a $2,500 bursary that will allow her to attend the upcoming 16th International Course on Wood Conservation Technology in Oslo, Norway.

Lachlan Barber of Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Amy Barnes of Brampton, Ontario, will receive scholarship funds to attend the Heritage Canada Foundation’s 2013 conference, Regeneration: Heritage Leads the Way [link], which will be held in Ottawa from October 31 to November 2, 2013.

The Herb Stovel Scholarship Fund awards funds annually to one or more Canadian students or young professionals pursuing studies or working in built heritage conservation. With assistance from the Fund, Herb Stovel scholars will deepen their capacity in heritage conservation through special projects, experiential learning and conference attendance.
