Maison Cartier

Constructed about 1803, Maison Cartier’s original use is believed to have been a store associated with the adjoining public market of Place Jacques Cartier. One of the concerns was the rising tide of demolitions in Old Montreal. The National Trust for Canada purchased the building in 1979, restored it, and sold it in 1981.
