OTTAWA, ON, July 16, 2013 – The Heritage Canada Foundation (HCF) congratulates the Hon. Leona Aglukkaq on her appointment as the new Minister of the Environment, Minister of the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency and Minister for the Arctic Council, and the Hon. Shelly Glover on her appointment as the new Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages. The Right Honourable Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada, named the Ministers as part of a Cabinet shuffle yesterday.
“We look forward to meeting with the new Ministers very soon,” said Natalie Bull, HCF’s executive director. “The regeneration of Canadian communities through the re-use of existing buildings is good for the environment and the economy, and protects our cultural heritage for future generations. As the National Trust for Canada, we will be pleased to work with Minister Aglukkaq and Minister Glover in their new roles.”
